Your Role
Lead in developing and building a strong community of arts societies. Working with the Activities & Engagement Officer, oversee all arts societies in the Union and develop opportunities for students to pursue a rich range of artistic interests at UCL.
Issues You May Work On
As a Student Officer, you will work closely with students and Sabbatical Officers. Issues may vary depending on student concern. However, previous Officers have worked on issues such as:
- Making sure that Arts societies are as inclusive and engaging as possible.
- Working with the Activities & Engagement Officer to promote an inter-societal community within the Arts Societies, and the clubs and societies community as a whole.
- Ensure that the interests of Arts societies members are represented within relevant decision-making processes in the Union.
Meetings You Will Attend
- Activities Zone – Five meetings throughout the year
Your Eligibility
Any continuing UCL student who has been a member of a Union-affiliated arts society for at least 28 days.
Time Required For Role
This is a part-time, unpaid position. You are expected to attend Activities Zone meetings and a range of additional events, approx. 15-20 hours per term. Job shares are welcome.

The role is supported by a full programme of training, development and support to help build all of the skills and knowledge required and to support longer term personal development.
