Students' Union UCL are committed to making our activities as accessible as possible and we want your help in making that happen. In 2023-24 we conducted research which highlighted the barriers to accessing SU activities for students with a disability. We are looking for research participants to take part in focus groups to help us better understand the barriers faced by disabled students' and how we can tackle these barriers.

Who is this for?

The focus groups are open to any UCL students who

  • Identify as having a disability and/or as neurodiverse
  • Participate, have participated, or want to participate in TeamUCL, ArtsUCL, or any Students’ Union events

How much time will it take?

Each focus group will be 90 minutes long, but with the option to take part for half the session if you can’t make the whole thing. The focus groups will take place at the Students’ Union offices at 25 Gordon Street, floor 2, with the option to join online.

During the focus group we would like to hear your positive and negative experiences, discuss the barriers to involvement in SU activities, and work towards some recommendations.

What will you get from it?

All participants will receive a £20 voucher if joining the whole session, or £10 if joining for half of it. There will also be refreshments if you decide to participate!

Everything said in each focus group is completely confidential, and the findings from each group will be presented anonymously.

This will be a relaxed environment, and we are really keen to hear from you, so please sign up and contact the email address below if you have any questions.

If you can't make this focus group, sign up for our first one on 11th February 4-5.30pm: Focus group 1: disabled students educational experiences | Students Union UCL
