Do you want to get involved with grassroots LGBT+ community organisations? Want to boost your co-design and facilitation skills? Gain research and consultancy experience in the Voluntary and Community Sector?  

Take part in our LGBT+ community engagement workshops as a Facilitator! 

About the workshops 

We are running to workshops with 10 London-based LGBT+ grassroots and community organisations to understand how we can create meaningful opportunities for students and organisations to work together through volunteering, research, and consultancy for social impact. 

Date and time 

  • Facilitation skills training – 14th August, 1pm4:30pm 

  • Workshop 1 - 14th August, 6pm – 8:45pm 

  • Workshop 2 – 28th August, 6pm – 8:45pm 

We are looking for two Lead Facilitators and up to four Facilitators to guide workshop discussions, share your experience of research and volunteering as students, and co-create research and volunteering briefs.  

Lead Facilitators will be required to attend both workshops, while Facilitators are only required to attend the 2nd workshop.  

What you’ll do 

In the workshops, you’ll be working with LGBT+ organisation representatives to facilitate and contribute to: 

  • Small group activities (e.g. mapping exercises, brainstorms) 

  • Wider group discussions  

  • Brief-setting and research consultancy  

Don’t worry if you haven’t done something like this before. We'll be providing training to boost your confidence and grow your skills. Plus, members of staff will be on hand to support you throughout.

To deliver these workshops, we are working with LGBT+ Consortium, the largest network of LGBTQ+ groups and community organisations in the UK.  

LGBTQ+ students and those with a strong connection to the LGBTQ+ community are especially encouraged to take part.
