The London Economics Conference is a collaborative event involving the Oxford Economics Society, Cambridge Marshall Society, LSE’s Economics Society and the Economist’s Society at UCL. The event provides a platform for our members to attend panel discussions on contemporary global economic topics. 

This year’s event will take place on 4th February 2026 5-7PM on the LSE campus, Cheng Kin Ku Building Room 1.04 (54 Lincoln's Inn Fields, London WC2A 3LJ). 

Geopolitics and the Global Economy - a discussion addressing how recent global tensions are reshaping international trade and economic interaction between nations

• Jonathan Haskel CBE, Economist and Professor at IBS
• Jagjit Chadha OBE - Professor at University of Cambridge

Women in Economics  - a discussion exploring the role of women in the economics profession and how policy, institutions and academic are currently supporting inclusion

• Almudena Sevilla, Professor at London School of Economics
• Misa Tanaka, Head of Research at Bank of England
• Jo Swaffield, Professor at University of Southhampton

The panels will last for approximately an hour and a half including an open audience Q&A.
