πThe Nature and Conservation Society is delighted to announce our annual conservation conference will be taking place on March 4th, Tuesday from 6-9pm at the E28 Harrie Massey Lecture Theatre. In partnership with the British Association of Nature Conservationists (BANC), this year's official theme is 'The conservation revolution: modern approaches to conservation.' We'll be inviting four speakers to discuss various contrasting perspectives on modern conservation, from sustainable structural transformation to indigenous-led approaches. Following the talks, we'll finish the conference in a roundtable discussion, where we highly encourage audience members to contribute their insights as members of the academic and professional community.
The talks will end around 8.45pm, followed by a drinks reception. Tickets are free but limited so make sure to secure your spot on our students union website. (π¨In consideration of other attendees, please purchase a ticket only if you can attend!)
- What is the Conservation Conference?
As our annual flagship event, our student-led Conservation Conference aims to bring together thought leaders, experts, and enthusiasts in the field of conservation to share insights, exchange ideas, and inspire action for the future of sustainable development. If you are a UCL student, please consider joining the UCL Nature & Conservation Society to help us bring more events to you in the future. - Who is BANC?
The British Association of Nature Conservationists publish ECOS, an open access journal containing articles and comment on the latest topics in UK nature conservation. BANC and ECOS were born out of the Masters in Conservation at University College, London, by committed volunteers keen to raise the profile of the environment to new audiences in political, social and economic circles.
