For UCL Surgical Society Members only (Standard Membership):
UCL Surgical Society has been fortunate to have been granted access to the Centre for Screen-Based Simulation at the Royal Free Hospital. Following our national award at the Association of Surgeons in Training conference earlier this year in Bournemouth, we are hosting a series of workshops to address the lack of simulation training in medical education. We will be hosting the half- day workshops three times, with each simulation day accommodating 14 students.
The format of the day will be as follows:
Introductory talk from Dr Berlingieri, lead for simulation training on the importance of surgical simulation and what students can expect to benefit from the centre.
There will be seven stations which students will rotate through with a two-to-one ratio of students to expert trainers.
The circuit will be composed of three LAP Mentor™ simulators (laparoscopic cholecystectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy and laparoscopic suturing skills stations) , AccuTouch™ (colonoscopy station), ANGIO Mentor™ (renal artery intervention station), and GI Mentor™ (gastroscopy station) simulators.
At the end of workshop, certification of attendance will be awarded to all attendees which will be beneficial for their portfolios.
Tickets are non-refundable.
ASiT members must show proof of ASiT membership after purchase to [email protected]
