Opportunities

Opportunity: Social Prescribing Link Worker

The Social Prescribing Service works in partnership with community providers in Camden to deliver easily and accessible one-to-one support to Camden residents with mental health issues, who are referred by GPs in order to identify and access community facilities/activities to aid their recovery.

Using the Motivational Interviewing approach we engage people over 8 sessions (including 2 initial assessments) to identify their needs, goals and community resources to assist with meeting and achieving these. This approach enables people to set their goals and own their process on what is meaningful to them. This new service will have MIND in Camden embedded within the Assessment Team offering a direct route to Social Prescribing in the community. The aim is to work with people who have social needs which are best supported through linking with community resources rather than statutory services.

Opportunity: Senior Shop Volunteer

The shop is run by a team of volunteers supported by a Shop Manager. We are looking for reliable senior volunteers to help run the shop and take responsibility when the Manager is absent. Ideally, you would be available for twice a week anytime between 10 am and 6 pm for a minimum of six months and be available to open and close the shop when the manager is not there. Tuesdays and/or Thursdays would be most desirable. It would also help if you are familiar with retail work.

Opportunity: Charity Shop Volunteer

Our busy and successful shop on Camden Road sells entirely donated goods whose profits provide important income for Mind in Camden. It is not part of a national chain and all the income goes to Mind in Camden. The shop is run by a team of volunteers supported by a Shop Manager. We are looking for reliable volunteers to help run the shop.

Opportunity: Community Navigator

The Healthy Minds Community Programme helps Camden residents reconnect with the community through a range of free courses, workshops and activities. With events hosted by the likes of British Museum, Roundhouse, Triyoga and more, we offer participants new opportunities to get involved in Camden life.

If you are passionate about supporting people who are struggling with their mental health to live fun and fulfilling lives then this is a great opportunity for you. You will develop your own skills whilst helping someone else to become a part of their community.

Opportunity: Get Set to Go Volunteer Sports Navigator

Get Set to Go is a project aimed at supporting people experiencing mental health issues to link up with community sports resources to help them achieve their fitness and wellbeing goals.
