Renaissance Foundation is a specialist youth charity providing support to young carers and young people with chronic illness, aged between 12-18.
We're seeking a dedicated, reliable volunteer to support our weekly youth sessions. This role is vital to building trusting relationships with young people, and we require someone who can commit to attending regular Wednesday evenings. Consistency is at the heart of everything we do. Young people thrive when they have stable, dependable adults in their lives. Your regular presence each week will help create a safe environment where young people can build trust, develop confidence, and reach their potential. We cannot overstate the importance of this commitment – sporadic attendance can be disruptive to the group dynamic and the relationships you'll build.
We're Looking For
- Reliability: Ability to commit to regular sessions
- Genuine interest in supporting young people's development
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a non-judgmental approach
- Willingness to undergo safeguarding training and DBS check (provided by us)
We Offer
- Comprehensive induction and ongoing training
- Support from experienced youth workers
- Opportunity to make a real difference in young people's lives
- References for future opportunities
Your Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of structured youth sessions (term-time Wednesday evenings, with flexibility during holidays as we run a different programme)
- Build positive relationships with young people through consistent engagement
- Assist the session leader with activities and group management
- Help create a welcoming, inclusive environment for all participants
- Maintain appropriate boundaries and safeguarding practices
Time commitment
Duration: 12-month commitment required (flexible outside term-times)
