At Noah's Ark Children's Hospice, we help babies, children and young people with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, and their families, make the most of every day.
We provide a range of services to support children and families, including a regular programme of Family Activities and Siblings’ Groups. These activities provide fun and free days out, allowing children and families the opportunity to meet others in similar situations and take part in new activities in accessible environments.
This is a volunteer role for people who are available at weekends. As a Family Activities Volunteer, you’ll get the rewarding opportunity to directly support children with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and their families at a range of fun activities and events across London.
As a Family Activities volunteer, you'll have a range of different depending on what type of activity you support, but as a general guide, main activities / tasks include:
- Escorting siblings on public transport
- Supporting and befriending siblings throughout the activities
- Assisting and encouraging siblings to take part in the activities
- Providing support to Family Activities staff with tasks on the day
Core Training: Volunteers wanting to work directly with Noah’s Ark families are required to complete the Core Training module, which takes place on a weekend.
Family Activities Training: A weekend afternoon session designed to prepare you for the specific requirements of the Family Activities Volunteer role.
Safeguarding E-learning: All volunteers are required to complete a Safeguarding e-learning course as part of the onboarding process. This helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children, young people and families we support.
