Cody Dock
One of London's most exciting creative spaces, Cody Dock provides a gateway to the Lea River Park and is home to a gallery, gardens, cafe & bar that make this the perfect pit stop for exploring The Line Sculpture trail and Lower Lea River.  We'd love to hear from any UCL students who'd like to volunteer with us.
Description

Date & Time: Tuesday the 25th November, 10:30 AM - 3:00 PM

Description:

Join us for an interactive and educational experience at Cody Dock, where you'll learn the vital skills of water quality testing! This hands-on session will explore the significance of clean water and teach you how to measure key parameters that ensure its safety.

Rivers are vital arteries for local communities, offering potential sources of clean water, recreational opportunities like water sports and leisure activities, and essential connections with nature and wildlife. These river habitats are crucial for urban ecology, supporting a rich diversity of species within our cities. Protecting and restoring our rivers, especially as access is often restricted by development and industrial expansion is essential for both the health of our environment and the well-being of our communities.

What You’ll Gain:

  • Hands-on experience in water quality testing and environmental monitoring.
  • Valuable knowledge about the importance of clean water and river ecosystems.
  • An opportunity to contribute to real-world environmental data collection.
  • A deeper understanding of the River Lea's significance for local communities and urban ecology.
  • A chance to connect with like-minded individuals and make a positive impact.
  • A fun and educational day spent beside the river.

What You’ll Do:
