Are you a tennis fan looking to give back to the community? Age UK Kensington and Chelsea, in partnership with the Chelsea FC Foundation, is launching Walking Tennis sessions!
Walking tennis is a safe, fun, and inclusive way for older adults to stay active. It uses smaller courts and slower balls, making it perfect for those who want to play at a gentler pace. Your role is to support the professional coach in creating a welcoming, team-spirited environment where over-55s can improve their physical health and mental wellbeing.
- On-Court Assistance: Support the Chelsea FC Foundation coach with setting up drills and managing the flow of the session.
- Player Support: Help participants—many of whom may be new to tennis—understand the rules and feel confident on the court.
- Encouragement & Socializing: Act as a "motivator" on the sidelines and on the court, ensuring everyone feels included and is having fun.
- Equipment Management: Assist with setting up nets, rackets, and balls before the session begins.
Professional Mentorship: You will work directly with Chelsea FC Foundation staff, gaining insight into inclusive sports coaching.
