The Log Cabin Charity provides a setting where children and young people with additional needs or disabilities can socialise, grow and have fun alongside their mainstream peers. 
Description

Join our welcoming team at The Log Cabin Charity in Ealing, supporting children and young people, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to play, learn, and thrive. 

As a Playworker Volunteer, you’ll help create a safe, fun, and inclusive environment where children of all abilities can enjoy activities, develop confidence, and build friendships. This is a fantastic opportunity for students interested in education, social care, psychology, or community engagement, or anyone who enjoys working with children.

Duties
  • Support children and young people, including those with SEND, during play activities, both indoors and outdoors
  • Help set up and run creative, sports, and social activities
  • Ensure children are safe, engaged, and included
  • Work alongside staff to encourage positive interactions between children
  • Assist with tidying up after sessions
Who will the volunteers be working with?
Children and young people, including those with SEND, their families, and our dedicated playwork staff team.
Training
Volunteers will receive an induction, safeguarding training, and ongoing support from our experienced staff.

Time commitment

We run sessions throughout the week, mainly for after school clubs, on weekends and during school holidays. Volunteers can choose a regular weekly shift or help occasionally at special events.
