Heath Hands
Heath Hands helps preserve the special character of Hampstead Heath through practical conservation work, ecological monitoring, wildlife interpretation and event support. We are volunteer led and give everyone who enjoys the Heath an opportunity to make a difference.

Heath Hands is the community and conservation charity for Hampstead Heath. As a busy environmental charity working with over 150 volunteers, dozens of schools, community organisations and partners, we welcome help in our office where no two days are the same. You'll gain office experience, find out about charity-management, communications, web development, project management, event planning and more.

Time commitment

The ideal candidate will be able to volunteer with us once or twice a week on a weekday (e.g. 1/2 day a week), with flexibility around timings.
Our office is open during normal office hours (roughly 9-5), closing earlier in winter.
What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
We have hand gel at our offices. We encourage regular hand washing. Staff and volunteers displaying Covid-19 symptoms (or testing positive) are instructed to isolate until a negative test.

This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.

Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working.

In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch at any time with any questions, queries or problems you encounter.
