University is a big, exciting place. But life isn’t always easy. We’re here to give you support when you need us, care about the things you care about, and fight for you when need someone in your corner. Our job is to make sure you feel supported every day.
We live by four promises. Four reasons our cafes, bars, shops and gym feel different to those elsewhere: we put every penny of profit back into your community, we’re always better value than the high-street, we’re at the centre of your campus community, and we choose planet over profit.
Project Access is an international, student-led non-profit that aims to help students from non-traditional backgrounds get into top universities in the UK, US, and Europe. We run a mentorship programme where we pair upper secondary school students with student mentors from top universities who help guide their mentees through the application process. We also run other initiatives such as summer…
The core of the Project Access Program is one-to-one mentoring between less privileged applicants and current top university students. Imagine the support you wish you had when you decided where to study or how to write your personal statement. You can help your mentee succeed by using the knowledge you have gained through your own experience.
In signing up as a mentor, you are joining a community of o +100 mentors worldwide, who study at some of the world’s best universities. What unites us all is our belief that passion and potential are what should define a young person’s future.
As a mentor you would help your mentee through the application process by providing advice on things like personal statements, interviews and admissions tests. However, a mentor’s most important job is to encourage their mentee and help them believe they can achieve their dream!
Who will the volunteers be working with?
You will be paired with a mentee - ideally from your country/region - who is interested in studying a degree similar to yours at your university.
We provide mentors with training and resources. so that they can help their mentee succeed. When you join Project Access as a mentor, you will become part of a large community of mentors you can ask for advice and the Project Access Team is always available to support you throughout your time with us.
