Age UK Kensington & Chelsea
Age UK Kensington & Chelsea is a local charity working with and for older people. We aim to promote independence and well-being in later life, encouraging self-help and peer support. We offer a wide range of services and activities, and provide interesting opportunities for people of all ages to get involved as volunteers.
Description

Parlate Italiano? We are looking for an enthusiastic volunteer to lead weekly Italian sessions for Kensington & Chelsea residents over 55.

Learning a new language is a brilliant way to keep the mind sharp and build confidence. Your goal is to create a fun, relaxed environment where members can learn basic phrases and explore Italian culture, helping them feel more connected to their community.

Duties
  • Lead Weekly Sessions: Teach basic, practical Italian (e.g., greetings, travel phrases, ordering in a café) in an accessible way.
  • Cultural Storytelling: Share insights into Italian traditions, food, or history to make the lessons vibrant and engaging.
  • Encourage Conversation: Facilitate group interaction so members can practice with each other and build new friendships.
  • Inclusive Planning: Prepare simple materials or topics for each week of the "school term," ensuring the pace is comfortable for all levels.
