In Your Corner
We are a small charity that packs a big punch!! Our non-contact boxing groups use evidence-based psychology to help vulnerable young people regulate their feelings and behaviour. It’s a game-changing approach that sets us apart. We work across London with young people ages 11 - 18 years old.
Description

About the organisation: In Your Corner delivers non-contact boxing and clinical psychology interventions for young people aged 11–18, particularly those at risk of exclusion or showing emotional dysregulation in schools.

Project goal: To explore how the combination of interventions (non-contact sports and talking therapy) supports educational attainment in school-aged youth, especially those with traits of ADHD or behavioural challenges. The aim of this project is to produce a report combining literature review and existing internal quantitative and qualitative data analysis to support expansion of this programme in schools.

Duties
  •  Conduct a literature review on the benefits of non-contact sports (including boxing), combined with talking therapy, on educational attainment in school-aged children.
  • Analyse existing qualitative and quantitative data. For example, this includes health and wellbeing scoring from the participants before and after the intervention.
  • Collaborate to write a summary report, suitable for external communication and marketing.
  • Optional: Observe one session of the intervention at one of the central London sites (non-participatory).
