Role Purpose

Age UK Islington is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic volunteer to support our fundraising and business development activities. This role will help identify new income opportunities, support funding applications, maintain fundraising information, and assist with community fundraising initiatives. It offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience in fundraising and charity development while making a meaningful contribution to the lives of people in Islington.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor funding websites, grant portals and other relevant sources for funding and business development opportunities.
  • Assess and record Age UK Islington's eligibility for funding opportunities against published criteria.
  • Produce regular summary reports on upcoming funding opportunities for the Senior Management Team.
  • Develop and maintain a database of potential local corporate supporters and funders.
  • Support the gathering of information and evidence for funding bids and grant applications.
  • Assist with the drafting and preparation of fundraising materials, applications and reports.
  • Help organise fundraising events, campaigns and community initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of fundraising prospects, activities and deadlines.
  • Undertake other fundraising and business development support tasks as appropriate.
