The Digital Champion Volunteer will work closely with the library team to support digital skills development for individuals and groups within the local community. The volunteer will help to deliver 1-1 support, group sessions and/or one-off events to improve digital literacy and help fellow residents get connected.
- Provide digital skills support to individuals through one-to-one sessions, group sessions, and one-off events
- Assist individuals in developing basic digital skills such as using email, accessing the internet, and using social media
- Support individuals in using digital devices such as laptops, smartphones, and tablets
- Help individuals to access online services and resources such as job search engines, council and healthcare services, and online learning platforms
- Support digital skills workshops and training sessions for community groups, school groups and those attending one-off events
- Ensure that individuals are aware of online safety and security best practices
- Support library staff to record and report on the impact of the support provided to individuals
- Attend relevant training sessions
