Let’s Talk Dementia: Fiction, Fact and Hope. Festival of Science and Arts of Brain Health & Dementia
The SPIN-Dementia Network+ is excited to announce the inaugural Festival of Science and Arts of Brain Health & Dementia, themed ‘Let’s Talk Dementia: Fiction, Fact and Hope’ at UCL East, Stratford, London. This event will explore brain health, dementia, and the essential support for individuals living with dementia.
SPIN-Dementia Network Plus is an NIHR, ESRC and Alzheimer’s Society-funded dementia network led by the University of Exeter and UCL. We are a network that is bringing together people who are interested in exploring ways to reduce the risk of dementia, delay the onset of early symptoms, and lessen the impact of dementia through appropriate support and care.
Public and patient involvement, and co-production is a substantial element of our work. As part of this, we will invite members of the public, people with lived experience of dementia and their carers, early career researchers, clinicians, charity partners, industry partners, local organisations and students for a diverse programme of activities including a film screening, choir performance, poster presentations, talks and technology demonstrations.
We would like to invite psychology students to volunteer to be part of our first conference at UCL East in July to help with stewarding.
People with dementia would be classed as vulnerable adults and there will be under 18s.
However, we would not expect or allow the volunteers to be on their own with under 18s, people with dementia or any other vulnerable category.
