University is a big, exciting place. But life isn’t always easy. We’re here to give you support when you need us, care about the things you care about, and fight for you when need someone in your corner. Our job is to make sure you feel supported every day.
We live by four promises. Four reasons our cafes, bars, shops and gym feel different to those elsewhere: we put every penny of profit back into your community, we’re always better value than the high-street, we’re at the centre of your campus community, and we choose planet over profit.
Together, we can make the world around us better, on campus and beyond. UCL is yours, so shape it. We’re led by students and that means you’re in charge.
If you can imagine it, there’s probably a society for it. Wherever your curiosity takes you, whatever passion inspires you, you’ll find a home in our student-led groups.
We’ll keep you active in a way that works for you. Sport is for everyone, and we’ll help you find your level. From a casual class to captaining a competitive club, live an active lifestyle with us.
This is how you make a difference during your time here, and while you’re at it, add valuable stuff to your CV, give back to the communities you’re living in and discover London in a unique way.
Our events are designed to help you meet people, try new things and have fun. Events are for everyone, but we’ve highlighted ones that are family friendly or good for postgrads. Enjoy!
Since 1966 Fulham Good Neighbours has supported older and disabled people in their homes and gardens, community and at our community centre, and now online. In 2019 we received The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service. Our projects aim to: • Tackle older people's concerns raised in 2019 local Older People’s Commission (LBHF). These related mainly to: 1. access to services; 2. loneliness and…
To provide practical gardening assistance and support to older and disabled residents, in order to help them maintain their independence and remain safe, secure, comfortable and happy in their own home. The project builds inter-generational friendships, providing an opportunity also for those without gardens to enjoy maintaining the garden of someone who is unable to tend their own.
We are looking for someone who could volunteer with us for 3 months or longer, for around 1 hour/week.
We will however consider your availability and aim to be as flexible as possible.
The length of tech support visits or calls will vary with each client. The volunteer support could take place weekly or could be on a one-off basis.

What measures have you put in place to ensure volunteers’ safety during COVID-19?
Fulham Good Neighbours places the safety of all at the forefront of our decision making, therefore we work in accordance with the guidance from the government and Public Heath England regarding Covid-19 and social distancing measures. As we constantly monitor these guidelines, we ensure that relevant risk assessments are in place for all our activities.
We also provide our volunteers with guidance and policies regarding our activity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
This organisation is one of our community partner organisations.
Like all volunteer recruiters we work with, they have signed up to our service standards, agreeing to abide by our policy on partnership working to keep you safe and supported whilst you volunteer.
You’ll never be out of pocket for volunteering through us – with in-London travel expenses to and from your volunteering guaranteed.
In addition, the team here at Students’ Union UCL Volunteering Service is here to support you throughout your volunteering journey – you can get in touch with us at any time.
