My name is Caitlin, and I'm a Fitness Instructor at TeamUCL Gym!
Calisthenics has become a huge part of my life , not just as a way to train, but as a way to build confidence, community, and balance. I train regularly, teach beginner women-only calisthenics classes at TeamUCL Gym, and I’ve been Welfare Officer for the Calisthenics Society for the past two years.
Being active helps me feel grounded and strong, both physically and mentally. Movement is how I manage stress, stay focused, and reset when life gets stressful. It doesn’t always mean long workouts, sometimes it’s just showing up and doing what I can that day.
Teaching and supporting others through sport has been especially meaningful and has shaped how I approach everyday life. Watching people grow in strength and confidence over time and seeing them realise they’re capable of more than they thought, is incredibly rewarding. Calisthenics has taught me patience, resilience, and the confidence to try things before feeling “ready.”
Everyone starts somewhere, even the people who look confident now. Feeling nervous, making mistakes, or doubting yourself is part of the process. Showing up, starting small, and trusting the process is where the real progress begins!
