What is the Student Activity Fund?

The Student Activity Fund is an initiative to encourage community-building and student leadership at UCL East and the School of Management. It aims to financially support students and their peers to host events and activities without necessarily needing to be a member of a society!

What kind of projects are eligible?

Projects must be
* Held at UCL East, the School of Management, or in easily accessible places in East London
* Be open to all students who live or study on that site – representatives of societies may apply for the fund, but only to host events that are open to all students

We will prioritise projects that
* Diversify the range and type of activities offered at UCL East and the School of Management
* Speak specifically to the needs and interests of students at UCL East and/or the School of Management
* Reflect the Students’ Union mission, purpose, and values
* Are proposed by students who have not been awarded from the fund before (though you are free to make multiple applications)

What can't be funded?

We cannot offer project funds for
* Purchasing alcohol
* Events featuring external speakers
* Uniforms or other merchandise for organisers

When will I hear back?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. You should expect to hear back in a maximum of two weeks from the time you submit your application. You should not submit an application for a project that is going to take place in less than two weeks' time - we recommend submitting at least a month before!

Please note, applications will not be processed during University closure periods; any other pauses in application processing will be announced and listed on the website as they happen.

Activity description:
Please provide a summary of the event, ensuring you detail how the event will meet the requirements of the fund.
As a group of UCL-affiliated dogs, we want to help the campus community celebrate Dog Appreciation Month, which has never happened in UCL East before. We are going to organise a scavenger hunt around the Olympic Park area to celebrate the important dog activities of running around and hunting for things, concluding with a social on the balcony. This will be a great opportunity for members of the dog community to feel celebrated, and for humans to learn about dogs.
Budget breakdown:
Please provide a detailed breakdown of how the funding will be spent.
Prizes for scavenger hunt winners: £100
Snacks and soft drinks for social after the hunt: £100
Booking spaces:
Please list any spaces that you need to book, including which campus they are on (please note, we cannot guarantee availability at School of Management campus). If you are unaware of the available spaces, please list any space requirements you will need.
We would like to book a space at UCL East for the final hour of the event (2pm - 3pm) for 50 people. We will need to be able to have food and drink there, and ideally play some music!
