Your Role

Lead in developing and building a strong community of sports clubs. Working with the Activities & Engagement Officer, oversee all sports clubs in the Union and develop opportunities for students to pursue a rich range of sporting activities at UCL. Chair the Sports Representatives Group, which meets ahead of each Activities Zone meeting. 

Issues You May Work On

As a Student Officer, you will work closely with students and Sabbatical Officers. Issues may vary depending on student concern. However, previous Officers have worked on issues such as:

  • Ensuring that the interests of sport societies are represented in the relevant decision-making processes in the Union.
  • Developing policies to ensure that sport societies are inclusive to all students, including Trans and disabled students.
  • Helping to coordinate charity sporting events.

Meetings You Will Attend

  • Activities Zone – Five meetings throughout the year.

Your Eligibility

Any continuing UCL student who has been a member of a Union-affiliated sports club for at least 28 days.

Time Required For Role

This is a part-time, unpaid position. You are expected to attend Activities’ Zone meetings and a range of additional events, approx. 15-20 hours per term. Job shares are welcome.
