Purpose of the job

Students from mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau make up over 20% of UCL’s student population, representing the largest identifiable group of international students. We want to better understand the experience of these students. Specifically, the project will examine the transition to university, students’ experiences within the classroom, and engagement with the wider student experience. 

 

We are seeking two student Research Assistants to lead this project.

 

You'll get to work with an experienced research team, learn from others, and develop your skills. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Support with the design and execution of qualitative data collection
  • Lead on data analysis
  • Produce a finalised written report

Job description
  1. To conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of student feedback, identifying key themes and trends.
  2. To assist in the preparation of reports, articles, and briefings.
  3. To oversee and monitor data sources as this is collated and analysed.
  4. To assist with research through focus groups, surveys, and other appropriate research methods.
  5. To always carry out work professionally and confidentially.
  6. To maintain an awareness and observation of Fire and Health & Safety regulations.
  7. To undertake all duties in line with UCL and Students’ Union policy.
