About the job

UCL Student Support and Wellbeing Services and Students’ Union UCL are offering six UCL students the chance to develop skills in project management, communication, and leadership by participating as Drug and Alcohol Impact Auditors with SOS-UK. This is a paid role, and you must be available to attend sessions at the Bloomsbury campus on both 22 and 23 June 2026.

Job description

Drug and Alcohol Impact:

Drug and Alcohol Impact embeds social norms of responsible drinking on our campuses, and refocuses the conversation on drugs towards reducing harm, and building healthier, safer, more productive student communities. This isn't about getting students to stop drinking. It's about creating a more positive culture of responsible drinking and making campus inclusive for those who do not drink alcohol.

UCL has been among the institutions across the UK participating in the Drug and Alcohol Impact initiative. UCL has worked to meet a range of criteria, and an upcoming audit will evaluate progress and gather valuable research on this topic. Depending on how many criteria are met, UCL may achieve either ‘Working Towards Drug and Alcohol Impact’ status or full Drug and Alcohol Impact accreditation.

You can find out more about Harm Reduction at UCL here.

What skills do I need?

No technical knowledge is needed! Full training will be provided to fit in with any learning or access requirements. Interviews will take place with three key individuals including staff from the Students’ Union and UCL. The interview will be led by all the auditors in a group with the support of SOS-UK staff.
