Your Role
You will lead the new International Students' Network as well as oversee the development of an engaging, dynamic and rewarding community of international students and represent the needs and interests of international students within the Union. Working with the Activities & Engagement Officer, facilitate initiatives to support intercultural engagement across our diverse student communities. Working with the Welfare & Community Officer, represent the collective interests of international students to UCL and beyond.
Issues You May Work On
As a Student Officer, you will work closely with students and Sabbatical Officers. Issues may vary depending on student concern. However, previous Officers have worked on issues such as:
- Helping to build a strong community of international students at UCL by creating and running events and social activities for international students.
- Working with the Welfare & Community Officer to further develop the UCL International Students Orientation Programme.
- Working with the Activities & Engagement Officer to help facilitate more international cultural celebrations and to promote increased intercultural experiences for students.
Meetings You Will Attend
- Hold voting rights in all three Policy Zones (Education Zone, Welfare & Community Zone, Activities Zone)
- Union Executive – Eight meetings throughout the year
Your Eligibility
Any continuing UCL student whose normal place of residence is outside of the UK
Time Required For Role
This is a part-time, unpaid position. You are expected to attend Welfare and Community Zone meetings and a range of additional events, approx. 15-20 hours per term. Job shares are welcome.
