So many of today's 'wicked' problems are global. Take the wicked problem of sustainability; the United Nations called for a global partnership when it outlined the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. It takes more than a few nations to create the solutions to such complex problems.
At the Community Research Initiative, we are fully committed to the broader Union drive to ensure a great international and intercultural experience for our students. We want to create an internationally aware, culturally inquisitive student community ready to change the world for the better.
Learning Planet Institute, Paris
We have partnered with the Learning Planet Institute to bring you a great opportunity to spend a week in a learning environment where participatory science, open science, and responsible research and innovation runs right through everything. Not just dissertations or singular pieces of assessment, the Learning Planet Institute, together with institutions like Universite Paris Cite and CY Cergy Paris University, host and deliver degree programmes with the same beliefs as ours at the Community Research Initiative baked right through.
Information about this year's trip will be released in early 2025.
Technical University Kenya, Nairobi
The Union has a commitment to working with the Technical University Kenya's Student Association to share knowledge and skills for two ways learning and societal benefit for both Nairobi and London's most marginalised communities and pressing issues like climate change.
Upcoming opportunities will include digital Social Hackathons for Engineering students on frugal innovation.
