Across the weekend, you’ll explore the breadth and future of cardiovascular medicine and surgery, from complex interventional cardiology and cardiac arrest survivorship to genetics, sports cardiology, and advanced cardiothoracic procedures - all delivered by leaders in their fields.
🔬 Inspiring Expert Talks
Hear from nationally and internationally recognised cardiologists and surgeons addressing contemporary challenges and innovations in cardiovascular care, including complex PCI decision-making, cardiorenal syndrome, sports cardiology, genetics of hypertension, paediatric mechanical circulatory support, and the evolving interface between cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery.
🛠️ Immersive Hands-On Workshops
A core highlight of the conference is our high-impact, practical workshop programme, designed to give you exposure to skills rarely available at undergraduate level. Across both days, attendees will rotate through interactive stations including:
- PCI simulation using specialist interventional platforms
- Advanced echocardiography (TTE & TOE) with HeartWorks mannequins
- POCUS and ECG interpretation for acute and clinical cardiology
- Vascular anastomosis and surgical skills
- VR clamshell thoracotomy
- Chest drain insertion simulation
- Cardiac murmurs teaching supervised by the creator of the Murmur Master app
These sessions are designed to be hands-on, small-group, and clinician-led, helping you build confidence, technical understanding, and insight into real-world cardiovascular practice.
❤️ More Than a Conference
Beyond the lectures and workshops, the conference offers a vibrant, student-focused atmosphere with opportunities to engage with sponsor stalls (including Medtronic, Geeky Medics, Murmur Master, MDU, and others), support charity initiatives, and connect informally with clinicians and peers from across the UK. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take part in poster presentations, showcasing their work in a supportive academic environment, with prizes awarded for outstanding posters.
