Join the UCL Sports Business Society for an exclusive evening with Cliff Crown, Chairman of Premier League club Brentford FC.
Cliff has built a career spanning finance, business and elite-level football governance. A chartered accountant with more than 40 years of experience advising commercial businesses, he later became Chief Financial Officer at Smartodds before joining the Brentford FC board in 2012 and becoming Chair in 2013. During his time at the club, Brentford has undergone a remarkable period of development, including their rise from League One to becoming an established Premier League side.
Beyond Brentford, Cliff has held several senior positions within English football, including serving on the English Football League Board, representing the EFL on the FA Council and Professional Game Board, and serving as Chair of the FA Cup Committee.
The event will begin with a 45-minute interview between Cliff Crown and the Society's Treasurer, Tomo Sabatello-Chalfen, exploring his career journey, the business and financial side of professional football, leadership and governance at Brentford FC, and the club's development over the past decade.
The remainder of the session will be an open-floor Q&A, giving attendees the opportunity to put their own questions directly to Cliff and gain first-hand insight into the business and leadership of professional football.
Bentham House (UCL Faculty of Laws) features step-free access via lifts to its lower ground floor where room LG26 (also referred to as the LG26 Lecture Theatre or Room 26) is located.
