Description

Park Kitchen is a community research and documentary film project which is running once a month throughout 2026!

Each month we visit a different London borough, and find a bandstand, in a park. In this bandstand, we build a kitchen. This kitchen is designed by different artists each time, reflecting their vision of this domestic and private space.

We then invite local residents to cook, eat and chat together in this public/private space. All the while, we are filming the interactions that occur, for a documentary film project we will make in 2027, with all the footage collated.

The film will look at how Bandstands can be used as community spaces, and what kind of interactions happen in a purposefully curated 'private' space, within a public realm.

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help film and photograph the event.

Duties

We’re looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help film and photograph the event alongside our cinematographer. We already have one dedicated camera operator on board, but we’d love to build a larger film crew to help capture the atmosphere, conversations and special moments throughout the day.

You don’t need professional filmmaking experience to get involved. If you have access to a camera that can record video, or even feel confident filming on your phone, we’d love to hear from you. This role is all about helping us document the event in a natural and engaging way, capturing both the big moments and the smaller interactions that make the day feel special.

We’re looking for people who are reliable, observant and comfortable working around others in a busy community environment. An interest in storytelling, creativity and visual documentation would be a huge plus. Whether you’re an experienced filmmaker, a photography student or simply someone who enjoys capturing moments, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and be part of a collaborative and welcoming creative team.

Training
We will give you all the training you need for your role on the day!
