Description

Bankside Open Spaces Trust (BOST) needs a structured framework to continuously track and evaluate the impact of their free sports activities on children’s wellbeing. This project will focus on developing a standardized evaluation toolkit, enabling BOST to collect data effectively over the long term.

As a research volunteer, you will design evaluation tools, recommend best practices, and contribute to a report that will help BOST improve programme delivery and secure future funding.

This project will collaborate with the Evaluating the Impact of Free Sports on Child Wellbeing team, using their findings to inform the design of a practical, evidence-based long-term framework. Volunteers from both teams will work together to produce a comprehensive final report, combining immediate impact data with a sustainable evaluation strategy for BOST.

This opportunity is ideal for students interested in evaluation design, research methodology, and impact measurement.

Duties
  • Develop Standardized Surveys & Interview Guides: Create templates for ongoing use to measure children's wellbeing before and after participation.
  • Design a Data Collection Plan: Recommend methods for tracking impact over time, considering accessibility needs.
  • Best Practices Research: Summarize how similar programmes measure impact and incorporate relevant insights.
  • Collaboration with the Evaluation Team: Work closely with volunteers assessing the current programme’s impact to ensure tools are informed by real-world findings.
  • Final Report & Framework: Compile a structured report outlining findings and recommendations, which will be integrated into the final combined BOST report.
  • Support Fundraising Efforts: Assist in drafting a funding proposal based on research insights.
