From early 2026 through to end of 2027, the Union is investing in a 'process review' to improve student leader experience, led by IT & Digital and Student Activities.
This isn't just about IT or the website - it's about how you generally experience our services, processes, and 'how you get things done' in your role as a student leader.
Updates and plans
July 2026: So far, we've had service design consultants talk to over 50 students and staff in detail about their experiences across both events and the lifecycle of being a student leader. From there we've gathered a lot of pain points, feedback and ideas, and have started building a roadmap. We're also recruiting a business analyst for a year to lead on this work.
August 2026: prototype work on a student leader dashboard completed; planning for process review and business analyst continues
September 2026: our new business analyst has started and is creating a plan for cataloging and reviewing all critical processes, building a defined roadmap for delivery, and keeping delivering the quick wins and get going on the bigger pieces; student leader dashboard in final testing

We gathered a huge amount of feedback as part of our research, and continue to discover new opportunities. Our IT & Digital and Student Activities teams have already started prioritising this work, and delivering improvements!

| Quick event create form | 2026-08-17 | From the 'What's On' calendar, find a quick create form with just the bare bone event fields. You can always edit the event in full once saved. |
| 'My events' on personalised page | 2026-08-17 | You can now find any upcoming events you have created on 'My account' (your personalised profile page) for easy reference. |
