Alex Chung

Hi everyone! I’m Alex, a first-year Mathematics student. I’m running for Welfare Officer because I want to make WinF a truly holistic community where every member feels they belong and not just a career platform.

As a Maths major, I bring a unique perspective. Finance can sometimes feel like an "econ-only" club, and I want to champion inclusivity for those from diverse backgrounds, including STEM majors. I know firsthand how it feels to navigate this space from a different discipline, and I’ll ensure everyone has a seat at the table.

My time as a Year Representative before joining UCL taught me how to be a reliable bridge between students and leadership. I’m used to reaching out via socials or in-person to catch the small issues before they become big ones. This role also sharpened my teamwork skills. I know how to collaborate with a committee to turn feedback into action. Plus, having organized faculty auctions and student breakfasts, I’m ready to jump in and help the team with event logistics whenever needed.

I also spent time as a Student Operator in a Digital Architecture Studio, which made me the go-to person for troubleshooting and support. I’m comfortable being the "first point of contact" and genuinely enjoy helping others navigate high-pressure environments. I want to bring that same approachable, problem-solving energy to WinF to ensure we stay a supportive, mentally healthy space for all.
