Election post
As a long-time competitive swimmer, swimming has played a major role in shaping my life and demonstrating the value of a supportive team. Being an active competitive squad member, I've experienced firsthand what benefits our UCL club and where we can continue to grow - insight that I would carry forward next year to strengthen our team further. Acting as captain of my high school squad gave me leadership experience that I believe will transfer into the role of Vice President, from coordinating across a large team and representing team perspectives to fostering accountability and maintaining a positive, motivated culture.
Working with the President, I hope to develop the club's social side while ensuring that members’ voices are heard and acted upon. I believe an effective committee listens carefully, taking on board feedback to improve the experiences of all involved. I'm passionate about building stronger connections between the competitive and fitness squads - the club should feel cohesive so all swimmers, regardless of experience, are welcomed the moment they join. Swimming offers so much beyond 'staying fit', and I firmly feel this should be promoted more across UCL next year. By increasing the club's visibility and reinforcing that there's a place here for everyone, we can continue to grow a diverse and supportive community.
Creating such a culture where members feel proud to represent UCL is something I, as Vice President, would strive to achieve with your help next year.
