Jamie Bhumitrakul

Having served as a Promotions Officer for WINS this year, I am keen to apply for the Surgical Society Media Officer position for the upcoming academic year. Throughout my role, I have enjoyed using my creativity and design skills to produce engaging promotional content while working closely with committee members to support the society’s aims. I worked collaboratively with my team to market the 2025 WINS Conference across multiple social media platforms, which strengthened my ability to think strategically, manage deadlines, and adapt content to different audiences. In the lead-up to the conference, we designed and released promotional materials on a weekly basis to maximise outreach, including content introducing the conference theme, advertising ticket sales, and highlighting workshops and speaker sessions. More recently, I contributed to the promotion of the Women in Medicine Pan-London Conference, a joint initiative between the WINS committees of KCL, ICL, QMUL, and UCL. This experience further developed my ability to work across institutions and maintain consistent branding and messaging. These roles have been invaluable in refining my proficiency with Canva, a skill I have actively developed since Sixth Form through involvement in my school’s Medical Societies and charity projects. I am confident that my experience, creativity, and strong organisational skills would allow me to make a meaningful contribution to the Surgical Society’s media team.
