Election post
Presidency of the SOP Society isn’t just a title, it is a responsibility, one that is justified by my track record.
Two years as Treasurer, our funds tripled. A year as a Charity Officer, £2000 raised. Awarded £3000 in grants. Several Fortune 500 sponsors. Won the Departmental Society Award for the first time in SOP history. Co-founded the first InterUni Pharmacy Student Network.
All the achievements above are only possible through the support of the community, one that can continue to flourish under my leadership.
Once elected, I plan to create and coordinate with roles that directly provide for those that do not fit under the textbook definition of “student”:
- Pathways Officer: Representation for students that aren’t starting the MPharm at 18, with experience, mastery and skills that can utilise the avenues of this degree to the maximum.
- Guardian Angels Officer: Heads mentorship for students that want the hands-on side of healthcare through Pharmacy, with CPD-accredited training and guidance.
- UCAS Officer: Leads tutoring for pre-MPharm applicants to guarantee their acceptance into UCL.
- Research Officer: Operates a team for those that want earlier exposure to the publication process, and networking with departmental heads and masters in the field.
I myself will push for charity campaigns dedicated to cancer research, international medical aid, and student funding, all while continuing the five-figure streak in our own finances for a third year.
