Election post
Salsa Society is my second home at UCL. If we haven’t met yet, you’ve probably seen my countless announcements in the group chat this year. Safe to say- I care about this society deeply.
And it’s not just about technique or performances, it’s about the feeling: the buzz of packed socials, the confidence of landing your first spin, the community that forms on and off the dance floor. As President, my goal is simple- bring that love of dancing back into the spotlight and make Salsa Society feel electric again.
Next year I want to expand what we do. That means stronger collaborations with societies like ACS and Musical Theatre, more fusion classes and cross-style workshops, and a bigger presence on campus. I’d love to introduce a large UCL salsa showcase where we can properly celebrate and perform what we build as a society.
I also want to grow our dance programme by introducing two bachata days: one focused on Dominican style and another on sensual/moderna. Alongside that, I’ll prioritise well-organised teams and events, and the return of the kind of lively community events people look forward to.
I understand the grind SU admin brings, but red tape won’t be my excuse. I’ll stay organised, transparent, and chase the SU so the committee can focus on creating great experiences. My goal is a cohesive, accountable team where members feel heard and supported.
Above all, every decision will prioritise the wellbeing and experience of our members!
Soooo.. vote Hana for president already XD
