Charlotte Peach

Hi, I’m Charlotte! I just joined Pi this year, but I’ve loved so many different aspects of it—the online weekly writing commissions, PiTV, the magazines, being a news correspondent, the occasional Writers Room or guest speaker—but I just wish that our (amazing) society had a few more events to come together and meet other likeminded writers. It’s understandable that a writers society is quite an isolated, non-event one, but I’d like to become the Events Officer next year and try to change that!

My ideas for events next year are:

• Weekly writers catch up – I really like that Pi has started the Writers Room sessions this year, but I think it would be nice to make that a more frequent, more casual event, maybe held in a cute coffee shop, which is always occurring on a set night so writers can come in with regularity to chat or simply write with others
• At least one ball per year! This is my solemn promise, I will make it happen.
• Launch parties for magazines: I feel like each magazine edition needs a bit more commotion, and the writers/creators for them need more recognition, so I’d like to hold Serious, Proper Launch Parties for each magazine!
• Continuing and increasing the career panel chats! I think these have been amazingly helpful (and just really cool) events, so I'd like to increase the frequency of them. (I love cold emailing, I promise to find amazing panellists!!!)
