Election post
Hi! I’m Iman – a pathology nerd at heart and strong believer in ‘sharing is caring’, keen to share my enthusiasm, whether you’re a fellow pathology lover or want to explore!
Pathology is often overlooked, stereotyped as lab-intense and socially isolating. But I aim to create and organise events, debunking these myths and showcase its diversity! As events officer, my main plans are:
-
Explore and promote the fun of pathology, through organising various trips, workshops, and a journal club!
-
Strengthen partnerships, allowing us to learn from each other and widen our opportunities. Ideas include:
- Workshops; e.g. Inflammation: A double-edged sword; UCL Pathology x UCL Immunology Society
- Conferences; UCL Pathology x MedSoc Pathology x National Undergraduate Pathology Society
- Fundraising for various charities, e.g. Beacon
-
Continue and grow
Although this is a relatively new society, inspiration can be taken from this year’s events, such as continuing and developing the successes of the NUPC, and also from MedSoc Pathology Society.
Having myriad roles, including RUMS Welfare VP, AcaMedics Co-ordinator, and Y1 UCLMS academic rep, I am great at collaborating, organising and getting the job done. As events officer, I will support, listen and advocate for you, standing by my motto “No troll left behind”.
