I’m Dhyana, a 4th year medical student with a strong academic and clinical interest in neurology. This is demonstrated through completing my iBSc in clinical neurology, leading several Journal Club sessions and contributing to workshops at neurology conferences. I am committed and enthusiastic about building on NeuroSoc’s success and to continue to create engaging opportunities within neurology.
- Expand teaching opportunities
- 2nd year - continue with NSB tutorials
- iBSc specific sessions including research skills and academic writing advice
- Clinical years - I would introduce OSCE workshops, examination practice and portfolio guidance
- Continue and improve Journal Club
- Journal Club has been an exciting new addition to NeuroSoc which I have been involved with
- I would further establish this as a platform for students to develop and showcase their research, presentation and critical appraisal skills
- I would also like to expand the club even further, incorporating talks from medical professionals
- Introduce new events to expand the society’s presence
- Events include a neurology debate club discussing ethical fields and movie nights including both non- and neurology related films
- I would like to run fundraising events such as bake sales and quiz nights for charities supporting people with neurological diseases such as the National Brain Appeal, Parkinson’s UK etc.
- I would build new partnerships with other MedSoc societies and maintains existing ones such as with Surgical Society to plan the INNC
