Nuno Jusupov Muchao

Hey everyone! My name's Nuno and I'm running for the position of Competitions Officer in the UCL Maths Society. The reason I'm running is because I believe that competitions are one of the best ways to challenge and motivate maths students while promoting teamwork, problem solving and resilience. Having participated in multiple events in the past, like the QRT Maths Competition, UK Integration Bee, and UKMT Maths Challenges, I want to help with creating similar competitions that are fun and engaging for all levels, even if it's someone's first time trying a competition.

If elected, I'd aim to increase the number of competitions at UCL, as I feel there aren't that many currently. I would aim to host a variety of competitions throughout the year, including a UCL Integration Bee and Estimathon, alongside other events in collaboration with different universities and societies. I'd aim for the events to be both inclusive and competitive so that anyone in the society would find them worthwhile regardless of experience. I'm organised, attentive and enthusiastic about both improving the competitions at UCL and creating a supportive environment for students to challenge themselves without feeling intimidated, so please consider voting for me to be your Competitions Officer!
