Hi, I am Ali! Running for the post of Competitions Officer of MathsSoc. As someone who have participated in multiple competitions at UCL and in high-school, I know what makes a math competition thrilling. Therefore, I am keen to build a culture that is competitive, rigorous, and most importantly fun.

Why Me?

I bring a blend of management skills and personal experience regarding competitions. Having particpated and ranked in competitions like ICMC and Integration Bee, I know how events are conducted and manageed at UCL. During my highschool, I was also the founder and co-leader of Science Bowl, where I trained and hosted the competition preparing students for the largest national STEM event in the country. I designed problem sets, managed logistics, and lead a team. Hence, I know exactly what makes a competition run smoothly: clear rules, challenging yet creative problems, and flawless execution.

As Competitions Officer, I will aim to bring more interesting and fun compeitions in the society. I intend to bring increased participation for events such as UK Integration Bee and ICMC and keep the society's rigour high by hosting regular competitions.

My priorities include:

• Partnering with other London universities for inter-varsity challenges.
• Introducing Coding + Math challenges and Mental Maths rounds.
• Hosting "Open Categories" to ensure students from all backgrounds can participate and enjoy the thrill of the solve.
