Ryan Kai Le Choong

Hi! My name is Ryan, and I am running for Sports Director this year because I am passionate about sports, care for the Malaysian Society, and want to build a nurturing community of like-minded sports-lovers to enjoy their passions and form new friendships. 

What I will do:

1. Increase frequency and variety of social sessions
2. Utilise sports captains to help run sessions to handle increased scope
3. Collaborate with other universities and societies for friendly matches and events
4. Support MGames representation with opportunities for training 
5. Organise events like family sports day and London MGames

Why me:

• As a UCL Sports Activator, I helped plan and lead beginner-friendly social sessions in a variety of sports such as pickleball, badminton, and volleyball, providing me with the experience to foster an inclusive environment for both beginners and experienced players.
• I have experience running events, having organised a volleyball tournament for over 70 participants in high school, managing court bookings, food catering, and finances.
• I will always prioritise the safety and wellbeing of our members, and am qualified to do so, being First Aid certified in sports emergencies and injuries. 
• My role as a volleyball referee for UCL's competitive teams demonstrates my decision-making and communication skills.
• As a salesperson at Art WeMe Gallery, I sold £5600 worth of artwork in just 4 hours, showcasing efficient and effective negotiation skills.
