Having attended events with the Legal Tech Society this year, I am eager to build on the society's momentum and contribute to exciting, unique events.

I will have two main focuses, aiming to give you a wide variety of opportunities unique to the society's position at the intersection of the legal and technology sectors.

Firstly, I will focus on engaging with major commercial law firms to give you insight into how Legal Tech has a practical impact in the office. This might be through panels or workshops with law firms leading in Legal Tech innovation, giving you the chance to learn about the impact of the increase in technology in the legal sector. This will give you the chance to gain specific insight into how different law firms utilise AI and the implications this may have on your roles as vacation scheme students or trainees.

Secondly, I hope to expose students to non-traditional opportunities in Legal Tech, specifically the developmental side of Legal Tech. Considering the growing market for Legal Tech and how the pathway into the developmental side is less defined than other legal careers, I hope to demystify the process for you and show you how to break into the sector. This may be achieved through opportunities to hear from people working as Legal Tech analysts or engineers, such as panels and office visits, which will expose you to the available opportunities, whether it be through coding, research, or beyond.
