Karim Yaseen

Hey everyone!! I’m Karim, a second-year HPE student running to be events officer for the UCL Law for All Society. This is what I hope to bring to the Law for All society as events officer:

• Experience with organising events at UCL– Having been UCL Snowsports social secretary for the last year. I’ve gained experience in running various events, from regular socials to formals. Which I think leaves me in a position to apply that to a career-based society. I hope to get more socials going on and collaborations with various societies.

•Application support and help– Having secured a vacation scheme with a US firm, I’ve gained an understanding of the application process. I hope to use this experience to help others by running TCLA-style mock interviews. Being a member of Aspiring Solicitors has also put me in a position where I can help students from diverse backgrounds access opportunities catered to them, through expanding opportunities initiatives, which I hope to make more students aware of.

• International Opportunities- Knowing how international our student body is hereand the many students who are keen to move abroad after university, I will try to expand the opportunities LfA members have to engage with vac schemes and training contracts across the world. Having secured my vac scheme in the Middle East, I’m in a position where I have a grasp of the key differences and can better help students navigate the world of international corporate law.
