Over the past year, I have played a central role within the Investment Society as Head of Conference, leading the organisation of the 16th Anniversary UCLIS Finance Conference in October. Managing the budget for a project of this scale gave me first-hand experience of the financial planning and operational discipline required to run one of the society’s flagship events.

What I bring:

• Budget management: Oversaw the full financial planning for the UCLIS Finance Conference, ensuring resources were allocated effectively and the event was delivered £1,000 under budget.
• Cost negotiation: Successfully negotiated with suppliers to achieve a 40% reduction in total costs, demonstrating a disciplined approach to financial management.
• Operational insight: Worked closely with multiple teams across the society while preparing the conference, giving me a clear understanding of how funding decisions impact events, partnerships, and member experience.
• Commitment: This is the only society role I am running for in 2026/27, and I will be fully committed to supporting the society throughout the year.

As Treasurer, I want to bring the same financial discipline and attention to detail that allowed the conference to be delivered under budget. My aim is to ensure the society’s resources are managed responsibly so that every initiative (from large flagship events to smaller opportunities for members) has the financial backing it needs to succeed.
