Sport is the heartbeat of community. As someone who lives and breathes fitness, I understand the discipline and drive it takes to succeed.  Im running for Sports Director to turn this personal passion for sports into a professionally managed, high energy sports department for this society. Being someone who has been in managerial roles before, such as captaining the 2nd XI and being awarded an art scholarship, I can handle the admin of fixtures and the diplomacy of inter-university games whilst ensuring that our teams are the best.  One major goal of mine is to diversify our sports offerings even past cricket and netball.  I'm someone who enjoys playing a very wide variety of sports and have the ability to teach these sports.  This will create more avenues for members to represent the society and build a stronger community through friendly competition.  Furthermore, I have a very good creative eye which would translate onto the kits I would design, reflecting the prestige of our society. Having lived in London, I'm uniquely positioned to source the best venues, sponsors and coordinate with other universities for a packed inter-uni calendar.  Lastly, I know for some people joining a sport can be daunting, therefore as the sports director I would ensure a safe and friendly environment where everyone is welcome.   Im not just a fan of sports but an organiser who has the social reach to make all feel welcome whilst maintaining that essential competitive edge that defines sport.
