Tanay Rai

I’m Tanay, a first-year ISPS student, and I’m running to be your Outreach Officer for the coming academic year. I want Hindu Soc to build stronger connections beyond just its core membership and events. Outreach can be key to strengthen the connections of Hindu Society to other cultural societies and also give our members real opportunities both in an academic context and social. 

Through UCL MCC, I helped expand engagement by launching Chicken Shop Dates interview reels, which moved from internal content to featuring members from other societies, increasing cross-society visibility and starting new collaborations. I’d bring that same outward-facing, relationship-driven approach to Hindu Soc. I’m also involved in Debating Society and Law Society, where I’ve seen how guest speakers and structured networking events can genuinely benefit members, and I want to introduce more of these events to Hindu Soc. 

These are just a handful of things I will do as your Outreach Officer:

        •  Organise networking events with Hindu professionals across law, finance, and tech

        •  Invite guest speakers to share career journeys, identity experiences and leadership insights

        •  Collaborate with other faith and cultural societies for joint panels and socials 

        •  Partner with academic and careers societies for professional development events

        •  Build alumni connections to create informal mentorship opportunities
