Election post
For the past year I have been very admiring of the great work done by UCL Green Economy Society. As an active member, I have attended most events and have grasped the essence and mission of the society when chatting with the current committee. As a second-year law student from Brazil, I intend to work in the environmental legal field and have learned a great deal from the GES panels and speaker events.
I believe I have a lot to contribute to the society and its continuing mission of educating the student body on the many developing aspects of the global green economy. As President, my mission would be to continue with diverse fields of economic speakers, including engineered geologists, economists, and lawyers, but also proposing more social events such as pub socials, research journal launch parties, and including collaborations with other societies to increase our campus presence.
I have attended dozens of networking and collaboration events and believe those attributes can improve the event attendance and engagement for the Green Economy Society. As fundraising officer of “Raise UCL,” I have gained significant experience in teamwork, sponsorship, and event organising when trying to gather as many funds as possible for charity. Mostly, I intend to stand for election because I am truly passionate about this society. I admire all the work it has done throughout my time as a student and would love to contribute to its development.
