Election post
Hi, my name is Ishana, and I am delighted to nominate myself for Treasurer.
Growing up, I watched my dad build his own FinTech firm from the ground up—a company I hope to take over one day. Seeing the discipline and liability required to scale a firm shaped my understanding of what responsible financial leadership looks like. I am running for Treasurer to ensure our Society’s finances are managed with the same rigour: balancing ambition with accountability while maximising value for every member.
This year, I had the privilege of serving as a Marketing Executive for our Society, where I learned the intrinsic role strategic communications play in the efficacy of events. Moreover, I worked at a Singapore-based FinTech valued at $20 million+, where I worked on a green bond project presented to Citibank. I have also secured a 2026 Blackstone Spring Week, demonstrating the analytical rigour required for strong financial oversight.
As Event Representative for my course (250+ students), I honed my budget management skills through practical allocation and accountability. As Treasurer, I will introduce a practical financial system built around our core events, creating a live budget tracker to compare projected vs actual expenditure after execution. For sponsor events, I will track deliverables against agreed commitments to ensure commitments are fulfilled.
Ultimately, I want our finances to operate as a strategic foundation that enables innovation, expansion, and sustainable impact.
